Graveley Village Christmas Tea Afternoon

Remembrance November 2025
Since the winter of 2022 poppies have been made in preparation to hang on the tower of St Mary’s Church, Graveley.
This year, 2025, is the 80th Anniversary since the end of the Second World War. This display is to remember all those and all others who have fallen in defence of our freedom.
About a dozen ladies have Industriously, knitted, crocheted, and made poppies. The poppies will be put on the tower on the 2nd or 3rd of November 2025 which will be an amazing and eye-catching sight!
St Mary’s Church will be open on Saturday 8th November 2025 from 11 am until 3 pm, if you would like to come along to see the Installation. There will be tea and cakes provided also.
All donations made will go to the Royal British Legion.”
Remembrance Sunday will be celebrated at St Mary’s on the Sunday and all are welcome.

Safeguarding Sunday, 16th November 2025
Thirtyone:eight, the UK’s leading independent Christian safeguarding charity, has launched its annual safeguarding awareness campaign for churches – Safeguarding Sunday. This year the theme of the campaign is ‘Action Speaks Louder’ – encouraging churches to not just talk about safeguarding but to take positive action towards creating safer places.
The campaign is now in its 7th year and last year saw over 5000 churches across the UK, from a variety of backgrounds and traditions take part.
This year Safeguarding Sunday is on 16 November 2025. Churches are encouraged to not just reflect but also act on improving safeguarding practices, learning from where they may have got things wrong. To build on the ways they are supporting those who have been hurt, and highlight all the good work being done behind the scenes to protect vulnerable people.
